Coaching Centre Firing Case: Khan Sir Gets Interim Relief, Investigation Continues
PATNA, JUNE 09, 2026 [VoM News]: In a major interim relief granted to popular educator and YouTuber Khan Sir, a Patna-based court has stayed his arrest in connection with the firing and vandalism case outside his coaching centre.
On one side, students are also protesting and warning of a strong reaction if Khan Sir is arrested. On the other side, Khan Sir, also known as Faisal Khan, approached a Patna court seeking anticipatory bail in connection with the firing and vandalism at Khan Global Studies Institute on June 2.
He approached the court after being named in the First Information Report (FIR).
The legal team of Khan Sir has described the case as an alleged attempt at defamation, whereas the opposing counsel opposed the bail plea, alleging that the firing was intentional and not meant merely to disperse a crowd.
To explain the beginning of the controversy, on the night of June 02, around 15 to 20 people allegedly tore down banners and vandalised the coaching institute. Stone pelting was also reported, and CCTV footage of the incident surfaced on social media.
Similarly, another video surfaced in which the bodyguards of Khan Sir were allegedly seen firing in the air.
Following the incident, police detained both bodyguards employed at the coaching centre, who reportedly admitted to firing rounds from licensed rifles after being instructed to do so.
They also claimed that Khan Sir was present at the spot during the incident.
According to details available so far, a case has been registered against Khan Sir and two others under charges including attempt to murder and sections of the Arms Act.
Meanwhile, Khan Sir has accused a rival coaching centre of orchestrating the attack, whereas supporters of another coaching operator, Roshan Anand, have alleged that authorities are favouring Khan Sir.
Further details are expected to emerge as the police investigation progresses.
