Youth Facility Mass Shooting in Northern Germany Kills Six
STADE, June 29 – Six people were dead and several wounded on Monday following a mass shooting at a youth welfare facility in the northern German city of Stade, with a major police crackdown unfolding as two suspects, one identified as the alleged shooter, were arrested.
Police stated that the shooting occurred close to the facility and that all residents had been urged to stay clear of the area as officers continued their operations.
The investigators state that numerous people had been killed in the gun attack, whilst others had suffered injuries.
The exact status of the injured parties hasn’t yet been released at this stage.
A massive response of police and paramedics descended on an area just outside of Stade’s city centre as the perimeter was sealed and a criminal investigation into how and why the shooting had taken place had been launched. The town, which lies on the western outskirts of Hamburg, has a population of roughly 50,000 inhabitants.

Germany does have regulations about ownership of guns and mass attacks are seldom. Applicants who are under the age of 25 in Germany would need to have psychiatric evaluation prior to obtaining their license for a gun.
