    Reasi, Jammu Kashmir July 21 (VoM News): Issuing a major advisory to the people, the authorities in Reasi have opened all gates of the Salal Dam in following a sharp rise in water inflow caused by continuous heavy rainfall.

    This has increased the flow of water level of chenab river.

    As the Jammu Kashmir is under orange alert due to prediction of heavy rainfall spell by Metrological Department, this led to an substantial increase in inflow into the Chenab River and the Salal Dam reservoir.

    The authorities has stated, the step has been taken to regulate the reservoir level and safely discharge excess water, all gates of the dam were opened.

    This release has considerably increased the flow of the Chenab River downstream, and low-lying areas and along the banks of the Chenab River to to remain alert and avoid venturing near the river until the situation returns to normal.
