
Four Indians Killed After MV Golden Leo Ship Hit in Russian Missile Attack Near Odesa Port, Ukraine
New Delhi, July 20, 2026 [VoM News]: A commercial vessel carrying 17 Indian crew members was attacked while departing Ukraine’s Odesa port, resulted in four causualties, as per the statement of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
Where as, another got critically injured. The incident occurred on July 19 when the MV Golden Leo, carrying Indian crew came under attack.
India’s mission in Ukraine was monitoring the situation and providing assistance to those affected, MEA stated.
Meanwhile,India has condemned the attack, calling strikes on commercial shipping and threats to civilian crew members “deplorable”.
As per shipping data details reported by global media, the vessel is owned by Mumbai-based Ocean Grace Shipping Ltd.
Ukranian officials said that the Guinea-Bissau-flagged vessel was struck by Russian cruise missiles while carrying corn from the Black Sea port.
India has pressed the global attention once again that freedom of navigation and international trade must be protected.

The Black Sea has been the epicentre of attacks as both the Russia and Ukraine have intensifised strikes in recent weeks, leading to further chaos, in addition to US-Iran war.
