Viral Letter Making Rounds, ‘Balochistan Claims Independence’, Current Situation Reflects the Failure of Pakistan’s Policies
New Delhi, July 15, 2026 [VoM News]: The long-running tensions in Balochistan have gained much attention in recent years, and now the viral letter claiming independence from Pakistan is adding further fuel.
A viral letter is making the rounds on social media, stating that Balochistan has announced its independence from Pakistan. The viral letter further states that Balochistan has taken control of 85 percent of the province.
The viral letter/statement, issued in the name of the “Republic of Balochistan,” alleges that the region has declared independence, adopted its own national flag, anthem, currency, and administrative system, and assumed control over key natural resources, including gas fields, coal mines, and mineral reserves.
The viral statement also alleges that some Pakistani security personnel have defected to the Baloch side, which, as per Pakistani authorities, is yet to be confirmed.
Neither is there any sort of confirmation from anyone across the world, nor is there any official announcement recognizing Balochistan as an independent country, nor has it been recognized by any sovereign nation.

Though, one thing is crystal clear: the escalation in violence has been witnessed in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, where ethnic Baloch separatist groups and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants have intensified attacks on security forces in recent months.
Whereas, Pakistani authorities state that they have killed 109 militants since July 5, including 71 during Operation Shaban, a joint operation involving the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, and Balochistan Police.
As the history of Pakistan witnesses that the Pakistan Army controls the nation, and the powerful Army Chief is the actual ruler, the current situation in Balochistan shows the failure of Asim Munir’s policies.
Though, the authenticity and credibility of the viral statement and its claims could not be independently verified, but the current situation in Balochistan clearly depicts the failure of Pakistan’s policies.
