ABU DHABI, November 8, 2026 (VoM News): Atleast, 22 people were recsued by ‘The United Arab Emirates’ National Guard after a fire broke out aboard a cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman.

In a statement posted on X, the National Guard said it responded to a distress report from the vessel’s crew after a fire was reported on board.

Specialised teams located the ship and rescued all 22 people, who were identified as Arab nationals, the statement said.

The rescued individuals received first aid before being handed over to the relevant authorities. All were reported to be in stable condition.
