United States President Donald Trump Says Iran Deal ‘Very Close’, May Visit Islamabad if Agreement is Signed
Washington, Apr 14 (VoM News): Donald Trump on Thursday expressed strong optimism about a potential deal with Iran, stating that an agreement to end the ongoing conflict could be signed soon, possibly in Islamabad.
Speaking to reporters at the White House before departing for Nevada and Arizona, Trump said he may personally travel to Islamabad if the deal is finalized. “If a deal is signed in Islamabad, I may go. They want me,” he remarked.
The US President claimed that Iran has “agreed to almost everything” and suggested that Tehran could give up its enriched uranium as part of the proposed agreement, though he did not provide specific details.
Trump also indicated that the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, which is set to expire next week, could be extended if required, but added that a deal may make such an extension unnecessary.

“We’re going to see what happens. But I think we’re very close to making a deal with Iran,” he said.
Later, during an event in Las Vegas, Trump said the war “should be ending pretty soon,” raising hopes of a possible breakthrough after weeks of conflict that began on February 28 following US-Israeli strikes on Iran.
The conflict has resulted in significant casualties and triggered global economic concerns, particularly due to rising oil prices.
Trump also confirmed holding “excellent conversations” with Benjamin Netanyahu and Joseph Aoun, adding that both leaders may be invited to the White House for “meaningful talks.”
Donald Trump Announces 10 Day Israel Lebanon Ceasefire, Calls It “Historic Step”
A 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon has already come into effect, which Trump described as part of broader efforts to stabilise the region.
He said he has directed JD Vance, Marco Rubio and senior military officials to work towards achieving a lasting peace framework involving both Israel and Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Iran has welcomed the Lebanon ceasefire, with its Foreign Ministry indicating that the truce forms part of a broader understanding with the United States, reportedly facilitated by Pakistan.
With diplomatic engagements intensifying, the coming days are expected to be crucial in determining whether a formal agreement can be reached to end the conflict.
