UNGA President Acknowledges India’s G20 Presidency and Advocates for Unity
Dennis Francis, the President of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), expressed appreciation for India’s G20 presidency in a conference held at the UN headquarters. He commended India’s leadership under the theme of Vasudeva Kutumbhakam, emphasizing the concept of one earth, one family, one future. He noted that India’s G20 presidency served as a reminder of the shared responsibility to protect the world and our planet.
Condemnation of Middle East Conflict
President Francis also condemned the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, highlighting the loss of lives and injuries sustained by innocent civilians on both sides. He emphasized that such violence contradicts the principles of unity and solidarity, as well as the theme of “One World, One Family.”

Acknowledging the challenges faced worldwide, President Francis noted the increasing vulnerability to conflicts, climate emergencies, pandemics, and supply chain disruptions. He emphasized that the weaker and more vulnerable populations are often the most affected.

President Francis underscored the significance of unity and solidarity during these challenging times. He mentioned that people naturally seek support and community in moments of distress. The theme of “One World, One Family” aligns with the need for global support.
He expressed deep appreciation for India’s leadership in reminding the world of this important truth, emphasizing the value of coming together in times of distress.
