    Three Indian Seafarers Rescued After Black Sea Vessel Attack Depart for India, Indian Embassy in Bucharest Confirms

    New Delhi, October 11, 2026 [VoM News]: On Saturday, the Indian Embassy in Bucharest confirmed that three Indian nationals, who were attacked on the commercial vessel MV Royad Mammadov in the Black Sea, have left for India.

    The three seafarers, Ashwini Kumar, Sahil Sandhu and Harman Singh, were among the crew that were injured when the vessel was attacked on Monday. The Embassy stated that it had given them the required support to enable their return, in its post on X.

    The diplomatic mission expressed its gratitude to the Romanian authorities and the Constanța County Hospital and the rescue groups for their collaboration in the rescue and subsequent arrangements.

    The attack was said to have killed two foreign seafarers and injured several others including the three Indians. After rescue, all three Indian nationals were found to be in stable condition, confirmed the Embassy. Two of them were put in a hotel, the third was medically treated in the hospital in Constanța.

    The Embassy officials arranged for assistance from local police, medical personnel and representatives of the shipping company. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India condemned the attack, saying it was concerned about the safety of merchant crews and threats to international shipping.

    The ministry has cautioned against attacks on commercial ships as it has already affected the global trade and reiterated India’s demand for dialogue and diplomacy to settle the on-going conflicts.
