    Top Court Recognizes Legal Prowess in Full-Court Meeting

    In a significant development, the Supreme Court of India has designated 56 advocates as senior advocates, including 11 women. The decision was reached during a full-court meeting. Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud led a committee that interviewed over 200 applicants for senior advocate positions, ultimately recognizing their legal prowess.

    Diverse Group of Designated Advocates

    Among those honored with the title of senior advocate are Shobha Gupta, Mohd Shoeb Alam, Sunil Fernandes, Gaurav Aggarwal, Amit Anand Tiwari, Swarupama Chaturvedi, Ardhendumauli Kumar Prasad, Gagan Gupta, Dr. Joseph Aristotle S, and Karuna Nundy. Notably, around half of the newly designated senior advocates are first-generation lawyers, showcasing diversity in the legal profession.
