Rescue Operations Intensify in Uttarkashi Tunnel Collapse, CM Dhami Assures Safe Evacuation
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed optimism about the ongoing rescue operations at the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi. He assured that the 41 workers trapped inside the collapsed tunnel would be safely rescued, citing the resumed drilling process with the auger machine.
CM Dhami’s Communication with PM Modi
Dhami, who recently spoke with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, briefed him about the efforts to rescue the trapped workers and the progress made in the operations. The Chief Minister’s updates included details on the provision of essential supplies to the workers and efforts to ensure their safe extraction.
Tunnel Collapse Incident
The crisis unfolded on November 12 when a portion of the under-construction tunnel between Siklyara and Barkot collapsed, trapping 41 workers. Since then, rescue operations have been in full swing, involving central agencies, international experts, and the state administration.

In his communication with the Prime Minister and through updates on social media, CM Dhami highlighted the positive developments over the last 24 hours. He mentioned the morale boost resulting from the communication between the trapped workers and their families.

Dhami acknowledged the continuous guidance and support from Prime Minister Modi, which he said energizes and motivates the rescue team. The Chief Minister emphasized the commitment to quickly and safely evacuate the trapped workers, drawing strength from the Prime Minister’s counsel.
