NCDC expresses shock over death of students in stampede at Kochi

Srinagar: The core committee members of National Child Development Council (NCDC) during their recent meeting have expressed shock over the death of four students in a stampede during a college fest at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).
The members also expressed their condolences with the families of deceased students, and urged people to take precautions while conducting such events.
“We are saddened by the death of students in a stampede at the auditorium of Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). We express our condolences with bereaved families and urge everyone to ensure safety measures before organising such events,” NCDC core committee members said.
They further said that, “not only this time, such incidents happened in the past as well, so we need to ponder over it and should take precautionary measures all the time”.
At least four students were killed and over 60 sustained injuries in a stampede situation during a concert at the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), in Kerala on Saturday.
