Market Recap: Indian Shares Decline Amid Global and Domestic Pressures
Indian stock markets faced a significant decline influenced by geopolitical concerns, FII selling, and a dip in index heavyweights.
The Sensex fell 1,100.20 points (1.54%) to 70,323.45, and Nifty dropped 355.40 points (1.65%) to 21,216.40.
The downtrend was attributed to global factors, including unconfirmed reports of China injecting $278 billion to stabilize its markets. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng surged 3.2%, while Shanghai Composite rose 0.7%.
In contrast, Indian markets experienced a sell-off amid concerns, with geopolitical tensions and FII outflows contributing to the negative sentiment.
