Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha led a comprehensive review session at the Civil Secretariat, focusing on the progress and development of the Public Works (R&B) Department in Jammu and Kashmir. In attendance were key figures including Chief Secretary Sh. Atal Dulloo and Principal Secretary of the Finance Department, Sh. Santosh D Vaidya, among others.
Progress Review and Infrastructure Focus
The meeting delved into the advancement of various road infrastructure projects crucial to the region’s development. From initiatives like the PMDP and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna to critical projects such as tunnel constructions and expressway developments, a wide array of endeavors came under scrutiny.
Emphasis on Quality and Safety
Lieutenant Governor Sinha stressed the paramount importance of quality control and adherence to project timelines. Safety audits for roads and bridges were highlighted, with a directive for prompt corrective actions whenever necessary. The session also encompassed discussions on Human Resource Management, particularly in light of the merger between JKPCC and the PW (R&B) Department. Exploring avenues for specialized divisions within the department, such as dedicated segments for Buildings & Bridges, was urged to enhance operational efficiency and project management.
