Lezley McSpadden Head to Host ‘WOMB~man: A Mother’s Day Celebration of Life’ in Atlanta

ATLANTA, GA (MAY 5, 2026) – Lezley McSpadden Head, mother of Michael O.D. Brown and President and Founder of The Michael O.D. Brown We Love Our Sons & Daughters Foundation, will host WOMB~man: A Mother’s Day Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM at 5 Church, located at 3379 Peachtree Rd NE in Atlanta. Presented in honor of Rainbow of Mothers, McSpadden Head’s signature initiative supporting multicultural mothers who have experienced the premature loss of a child, WOMB~man is an intimate and intentional gathering that honors the strength, grace, and depth of motherhood. The brunch offers a deeply personal tribute to mothers who have endured the loss of a child, while also holding space for those who carry the memory of their own mothers.

Designed as both a moment of reflection and a shared experience of care, the program will open with a prayer from Wanda Johnson, mother of Oscar Grant and a steadfast voice in the ongoing pursuit of justice and accountability. The afternoon will continue with live performances from acclaimed R&B artist MAJOR., alongside Atlanta based duo Sxint Ehko and Mike Jones and Friends. Guests will also experience spoken word from local poets, a special appearance by Ms. Shirleen and a guided meditation led by sound healer Empressel Bey. Attendees are encouraged to arrive in Garden Elegant attire.
