Indian Stock Markets Reach New Highs on IT Sector Performance
Today, India’s benchmark indexes, Nifty and Sensex, reached all-time highs, driven by strong performance in IT services firms. The NSE Nifty 50 rose 1.22%, reaching 21,911 points, while the S&P BSE Sensex climbed 1.31% to 72,661. Notably, Tata Consultancy Services shares increased by 4.3%, and Infosys surged by 7%, both reporting better-than-expected revenue in the third quarter. The positive results in the IT sector contributed to a 5% gain in the IT index. In Asian markets, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong traded higher, while Seoul showed a decline. In the US, markets mostly ended in the green on Thursday.
