External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar engaged with the Indian community in Vietnam, emphasizing the significance of blending tradition and technology in shaping India’s future. In his address, he highlighted that India’s ability to seamlessly fuse its rich cultural heritage with cutting-edge technology positions the country on the global stage. The event took place in Hanoi and provided a platform for Jaishankar to reflect on the deepening ties between India and Vietnam, exploring opportunities for enhanced bilateral cooperation.

Earlier during his visit, Jaishankar attended the unveiling ceremony of a bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Ho Chi Minh City. He emphasized the significance of Mahatma Gandhi’s values and beliefs in contemporary scenarios. Mahatma Gandhi’s contributions to truth, non-violence, independence, and freedom have been globally recognized, with his birthday celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence.
Moreover, the External Affairs Minister met Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary, Nguyen Van Nen. He expressed his appreciation for the contributions of Ho Chi Minh City to the India-Vietnam partnership. This visit, initiated by his counterpart Bui Thanh Son, underscores the commitment to strengthen ties between the two nations.
In another significant gesture, the EAM unveiled the bust of Rabindranath Tagore in Bac Ninh province of Vietnam. The visit also featured a captivating performance by the Quan Ho Art Theater group.
