India Proud of Its Traditions, Culture, and History: Jaishankar in Nigeria
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar expressed pride in India’s rich traditions, culture, and history during his address to the Indian community in Nigeria. Emphasizing that India stands as one of the few civilizations to have transitioned successfully into a modern nation, he conveyed a powerful message to the world about India’s deep-rooted pride.
India’s Developmental Momentum
Highlighting India’s ongoing developmental activities, Jaishankar conveyed a sense of transformation, noting that India is actively in the process of being built. He pointed out the substantial flow of investments into the country, showcasing the positive momentum and growth that India is experiencing.
India-Nigeria Relations and Economic Opportunities
Addressing the bilateral ties with Nigeria, Jaishankar revealed a robust business engagement, with transactions reaching USD 12-15 billion. Inviting Nigerian investors to explore opportunities in India, he emphasized the country’s evolving capabilities, particularly in areas such as pharmaceuticals and the burgeoning medical devices sector.
Jaishankar’s visit to Nigeria is not just a diplomatic mission but a platform to strengthen ties further. Co-chairing the India-Nigeria Joint Commission Meeting and engaging in various events, including business councils and speeches, he aims to deepen the longstanding and friendly relations between India and Nigeria.
