Bihar Man Claims He Was Booked in NEET Protest Case Despite Being in Russia
Kishanganj, July 30, 2026 [VoM News]: A man from Bihar has claimed that he was named in a police case linked to last week’s anti-NEET protests despite having lived in Russia for the past four months, prompting authorities to say they will examine the matter.
In a video widely shared on social media, the man identified himself as Muhammad Sadaqat, a resident of Ward No. 12 in Bahadurganj, Kishanganj district.

He alleged that he was booked in connection with a protest held at LRP Chowk on July 24 over the NEET paper leak.
“I have been in Russia for the past four months. I request the administration to remove my name from the case. I will remain grateful to the administration,” Sadaqat said in the video.
The authenticity of the viral video has not been independently verified.
When contacted by PTI Kishanganj Superintendent of Police Hari Mohan Shukla neither confirmed nor denied whether Sadaqat had been named in the case. He said anyone with grievances related to the protest cases could approach the police for redressal.
The Bihar Police’s official X account had earlier responded to the viral video, stating that the matter would be examined. However, the post seems later deleted.
The development comes after the Bihar government announced that it would withdraw all FIRs, complaints and show-cause notices registered in connection with the anti-NEET protests before 6 a.m. on July 26. The government also said those arrested in these cases would be released.
According to official figures, 694 people, including nearly half of them minors, were detained during the statewide protests over the alleged NEET paper leak.
