Ashok Gehlot Criticizes BJP’s Delay in Announcing CM Faces for Hindi Heartland States

Congress leader and Rajasthan caretaker Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot criticized the BJP’s delay in announcing Chief Minister faces for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, stating, “there is no discipline in this party.”

Gehlot, in Delhi for a crucial meeting to assess the party’s performance in the recent Rajasthan assembly polls, commented on the delay in announcing the BJP’s Chief Minister face for Rajasthan, saying, “If Congress had not selected a CM for this long, then they (BJP) would have shouted a lot.”

He accused the BJP of winning the assembly election in Rajasthan by raising religious issues and polarizing people. Gehlot emphasized that despite this, they would cooperate with the new government.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi arrived in Delhi for a key meeting to assess the party’s performance in the recent Rajasthan assembly polls.

Rajasthan Congress leader Govind Singh Dotasra also arrived, focusing on analyzing shortcomings and making corrections for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The meeting comes after the Congress faced significant losses in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, impacting its hopes for the 2024 elections.

In Rajasthan, the BJP is poised to form the government, winning 115 seats, while the Congress trails at 69 seats.
