Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet Approves Special Tiger Protection Force and Comprehensive Development Initiatives
Protecting Tigers and Promoting Indigenous Languages
In a significant move, the Arunachal Pradesh cabinet has given its nod to the formation of a Special Tiger Protection Force (STPF) to safeguard the state’s precious tiger population and their natural habitats. The initiative aligns with the guidelines of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) and will focus on protecting wildlife habitats, preventing wildlife trafficking, and ensuring the safety of the Department of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change’s assets, including Tiger Reserves. The STPF will play a pivotal role in the scientific management of forests in the state, promoting wildlife conservation and preserving the rich biodiversity.
In addition to this, the cabinet has also undertaken a commendable effort to preserve and promote the diverse dialects and languages of the state’s various tribes. The decision to provide a monthly honorarium of Rs 1,000 to Third Language Teachers who have developed scripts for their respective tribes will not only encourage linguistic diversity but also support third-language subjects from the elementary level upwards. This initiative recognizes the importance of indigenous languages and their role in preserving the cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh.
Boosting the Economy and Enhancing Health Services
The Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet has taken significant steps to bolster the state’s economy and ensure the overall well-being of its residents. The amendment of the Arunachal Pradesh State Industrial and Investment Policy 2020 aims to make the state an attractive investment destination. It focuses on state-of-the-art infrastructure, technology skill development, and providing a conducive ecosystem for businesses. The policy offers special incentives, including power subsidies, to large-scale industries, and emphasizes attracting investors to boost the state’s economy, ultimately generating employment opportunities.
In the realm of health services, the cabinet has approved the Transfer and Posting Policy for General Duty Medical Officers and Specialists. This policy aims to ensure the equitable deployment of medical professionals to deliver assured healthcare services to communities across the state.
Strengthening Administrative Structure and Waste Management
To enhance administrative convenience and support the people of Arunachal Pradesh, the Council of Ministers has approved the creation of 414 contingency posts for various administrative units in the state. Additionally, the creation of 293 Group “C” and “MTS” posts and 60 posts for various administrative centers demonstrates the commitment to effective governance and public service.
The cabinet’s creation of two new circles, Paye and Nyoriq, will further facilitate administrative operations. In this regard, several offices, such as the Circle Office Pipsorang and Circle Office Chambang, have been upgraded to Sub Divisional Offices, enhancing administrative convenience.
Furthermore, the cabinet has approved three crucial bylaws to manage solid waste effectively, namely the Arunachal Pradesh Solid Waste (Management & Handling) Byelaws 2023, Plastic Waste Management Byelaws 2023, and Construction & Demolition Waste Management Byelaws 2023. These measures aim to address environmental concerns and promote responsible waste management practices.
Lastly, the cabinet has paved the way for the establishment of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) and Real Estate Appellate Tribunal (REAT) by approving amendments to “The Arunachal Pradesh Real Estate (Regulation & Development) Rules 2020,” aligning with the central government’s Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016.
This comprehensive set of initiatives reflects the Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet’s dedication to promoting sustainable development, preserving its natural heritage, and enhancing the lives of its citizens.
