    Five Judges Elevated to Supreme Court of India, Strength Totals to 37

    New Delhi, June 01, 2026 [VoM News]: In a major reshuffle in judicial system of the country, the President of India has appointed five new judges to the top the court of the country, taking the total strength to 37.

    Law Ministry of India in its social media post stated that Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Justice Shree Chandrashekhar, Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court Justice Arun Palli were elevated to the rank of judge of the supreme court.

    Venkita Subramani Mohana – a senior advocate has also been appointed as a Judge in the Apex Court.

    The President in consultation with the Chief Justice of India has elevated these judges to the the supreme court says, Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.
