Iltija Mufti Accuses J&K Administration of Targeting PDP. Image/HT
Iltija, the daughter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief, Mehbooba Mufti, has raised serious allegations against the administration in Jammu and Kashmir. She claimed that her mother, the former Chief Minister, was subjected to what she described as near-manhandling by security forces when she attempted to engage in a peaceful protest in support of Palestine. Iltija questioned the consistent crackdown on the PDP since 2019, and she strongly refuted the characterization of her party as anti-national, emphasizing the peaceful nature of their activities.
Iltija’s Concerns Amid the Ongoing Israel-Hamas Conflict
Iltija also used this platform to draw attention to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. She highlighted the outpouring of global support for Palestinian civilians who are facing severe atrocities, including attacks with phosphorus bombs, leading to the tragic loss of over 1,500 children in just the past two weeks.
Iltija underscored the official position of the Indian government, which condemns Israel’s aggression and has voiced concerns about Israel’s actions in violating humanitarian international law while interrupting medical and electricity supplies. She questioned why the local administration appears to be selectively targeting the PDP.

Voices of Condemnation and Solidarity
In addition to Iltija Mufti, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah expressed his opposition to the events unfolding in Gaza. He strongly criticized the killing of innocent individuals who have no connection to the attacks on Israel. Furthermore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the terror attacks by Hamas on Israel. The conflict began on October 7 and has now entered its 18th day.
PM Modi expressed shock at the news of terrorist attacks in Israel, conveyed sympathy for the innocent victims and their families, and reiterated India’s solidarity with Israel during this difficult time.
