MLA Shakti Raj Parihar Meets J&K CM, Seeks Action on Dessa-Malwa Hydro Project and RDSS Electrification Delays
Jammu, June 27 — In a significant move aimed at addressing key developmental issues in the Doda West constituency, Hon’ble MLA Shakti Raj Parihar met with the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir UT, Omar Abdullah, to raise pressing concerns related to the region’s power infrastructure and implementation of electrification schemes.
During the meeting, the MLA strongly advocated for the long-pending 21 MW Dessa-Malwa Hydroelectric Project, currently stalled within the Finance Department. He emphasized the strategic importance of the project, stating that it holds immense potential to not only boost the local power grid but also generate much-needed employment opportunities for youth in the Chenab Valley’s remote areas.

Parihar also drew the Chief Minister’s attention to the underperformance in the execution of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) in the region. He noted that electrification work has been progressing at an unsatisfactory pace, causing distress among residents of rural and underserved areas. He urged the Hon’ble CM to issue directives to concerned departments to accelerate the implementation process and ensure effective monitoring for quality outcomes.
“Ensuring reliable power connectivity and the development of remote regions continues to be our top priority. I will continue to raise the voice of my people at every forum,” said MLA Parihar following the meeting.
