Reasi Police Tightens Nose On Drug Smuggling, 2 Arrested

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶, 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟯: In its continued crusade against drug trafficking under the flagship campaign “𝗘𝗸 𝗬𝘂𝗱𝗵 𝗡𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝘂𝗱𝗵”, Reasi Police has achieved a major success by arresting two drug peddlers and recovering a total of 4.56 grams of heroin-like substance in Katra.

Acting swiftly on intelligence, a police party from Police Station Katra intercepted a suspicious Scooty bearing registration number JK20A-3371. During checking and frisking, the team recovered 2.360 grams of heroin-like substance from the rider identified as Kahar Singh S/O Baldev Singh R/O Migrant Colony, Talwara and 2.200 grams from the pillion rider Kuljeet Singh S/O Sher Singh R/O Chiladh, Arnas A/P Gran Morh, Reasi.

Both accused were immediately taken into custody. In this regard, a case FIR No. 147/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation is underway.

The operation was led by 𝗦𝗛𝗢 𝗣/𝗦 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽. 𝗞𝗵𝘆𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗷𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗮, 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗗𝗣𝗢 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗗𝗿. 𝗕𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗺 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗲𝘆 (𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦) 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗣 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗦𝗵. 𝗩𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮𝗻 (𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦).

Reasi Police continues its multi-pronged strategy to combat drug menace by intensifying legal action against offenders and simultaneously spreading awareness across the district. Strict provisions under the PITNDPS Act are also being invoked against habitual offenders.

To further strengthen community participation, Reasi Police has launched a dedicated 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 (𝟵𝟬𝟳𝟬𝟵𝟬𝟳𝟬𝟭𝟳). Citizens are encouraged to report drug-related activities anonymously. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.

𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗦𝗵. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘃𝗶𝗿 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵 (𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦), in a stern message to drug traffickers, stated “There is no space for drug peddlers in Reasi. Anyone found involved in such illicit activities will be dealt with strictly under law. We are committed to safeguarding our youth and creating a drug-free society.”
