
Jammu Police Busts Theft Gang Involved in Multiple Thefts

Continuing its intensified drive against theft and criminal elements,Jammu Police,under the leadership of SSP Jammu Sh. Joginder Singh, JKPS, has successfully busted a gang involved in a series of thefts across the jurisdiction of Sub-Division Nagrota. The cases include high value thefts of mobile tower radio units, electric wires, and gold ornaments.
Acting on credible leads and human intelligence, police teams under the overall supervision of SDPO Nagrota and SP Rural Jammu, and in coordination with SHO Nagrota, SHO Jhajjar Kotli, IC PP Manwal, and IC PP Sidhra conducted swift and coordinated operations that led to the busting of a gang active in the region.
The thefts targeted areas falling under the jurisdiction of Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli.

Recovery of Mobile Tower Radio Units: The Jhajjar Kotli Police team, using a combination of technical surveillance and human intelligence, apprehended four suspects in FIR No. 46/2025 U/S 303(2) of PS Jhajjar Kotli. During interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in the theft of 23 radio units (RUS 01 BO), which were subsequently recovered from different locations. Each unit is valued at approximately ₹2.5–2.7 lakh, amounting to a total recovery of nearly ₹61 lakh.
The Accused have been arrested, identified as Basant Kumar, S/o Ramesh Kumar (Bamyal, Nagrota), Ranjeet Singh, S/o Madan Singh (Chapanu, Reasi), Devi Chand, S/o Prem Chand (Kunkanyalam, Reasi) and Jatinder, S/o Kachedu (Kailawada Kalan, Muzaffarnagar, U.P).
This recovery also led to the solving of two more theft cases,one each from PS Nagrota and PS Jhajjar Kotli effectively dismantling a gang operating across Nagrota, Jhajjar Kotli, Manwal, and Sidhra.

Gold Theft Cases Solved (Approx. Value: ₹11 Lakhs): Two gold theft cases one from PS Nagrota and one from PS Jhajjar Kotli have been solved with the recovery of stolen gold ornaments worth approximately ₹11 lakh. The accused namely Sartaz Ahmed alias Kaka,S/o Mohd Shafi (Asrarabad, Sidhra) Arrested in PS Nagrota case; currently on bail.Moreover Arrest in the Jhajjar Kotli case is still awaited.
Wire Theft Cases Solved: The cases of wire theft also have been solved by Jammu Police include LTAB Cable Theft (2 units) solved by PS Nagrota having a recovery Value of 7 lakh, and Wire Theft solved by– PP Sidhra having a recovery Value: ₹2 lakh.
In these two cases, five accused have been arrested. All are currently out on bail.
The Total Value of Stolen Property amounts ₹81 lakhs (Approx.), which has been recovered.
The swift, coordinated, and effective action by Jammu Police has drawn widespread appreciation from the public. Investigations are ongoing, and further developments are expected.
