Strong Winds Disrupt Air Travel at Srinagar International Airport: 9 Flights Cancelled, 2 Diverted
Amid gusty winds, authorities at Srinagar International Airport on Friday announced the cancellation of nine flights and the diversion of two others.
An airport official, as per news agency Kashmir Bulletin, said they could accommodate only eleven arrivals and as many departures between 6:30 AM and 4:50 PM.
“Most of the flights for the day were delayed due to a steep pressure gradient with heavy winds around the airport venue,” the official said.
It is pertinent to mention that various parts of central Kashmir, including Srinagar, have been experiencing gusty winds since last evening, with reports of damage to residential houses and vehicles at several locations. (KB)
