Pak Resumes Ceasefire Violations: 2 BSF Jawans Injured in arnia sector. Image/daily excelsior
In a recent incident along the International Border (IB) in the Arnia sector of Jammu district, Pakistan violated the ceasefire, unleashing unprovoked firing, resulting in injuries to two Border Security Force (BSF) jawans. The incident, a breach of the fragile peace in the region, highlights the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
BSF’s Reaction and Silence
Despite the grave provocation, the BSF did not offer an immediate response to Pakistan’s aggression. As the incident unfolded, there was no official statement from the BSF regarding the ceasefire violation by the Pakistani Rangers. The silence maintained by the BSF raises questions about their strategic approach and future actions in the region.

Injured Jawans and Their Condition
Two BSF jawans, Alok Saha and Surjeet Vishwas, residents of West Bengal, bore the brunt of the unprovoked firing. Fortunately, their colleagues managed to evacuate them from their post, and they were rushed to the Government Medical College (GMC) in Jammu. The latest updates suggest that their conditions are stable, offering a glimmer of hope amid this unfortunate incident.
Recent Violation After Ceasefire Agreement
This breach of the ceasefire agreement along the International Border is a cause for concern, given that both sides had adhered to a fresh ceasefire agreement since February 24, 2021. Such incidents disrupt the fragile peace established after prolonged negotiations. However, it is crucial to note that despite this ceasefire violation, the Border Security Force had successfully thwarted infiltration attempts and smuggling bids by the Pakistani Rangers and militants, who attempted to use drones to transport arms and narcotics across the border.
