Pakistan witnesses a bloody night, after security forces opens the direct fire on the protestors of Pakistan Tahreek E Insaf supporters, protesting at D-Chowk. Imran led PTI, has given the final protest call for the workers. Imran’s wife Bushra Bibi led the protest, after continuously two days, after the call was given. Several sources claim different versions. After police arrested hundreds of people overnight, supporters of Imran Khan have called off their protests, demanding his release from jail.

In midnight hours, government conducted a major operation when lights, sound system was off due to unknown reason, Security forces (majorly rangers) shots several protestors of Imran led Pakistan Tahreek E Insaf. Though, the government denies the killings, something seems dubious, as the local journalist claims killings in hundred.

Moed Pirzada, CEO Editor Global Village Space/TV Anchor says, more than 100 unarmed protesters have been killed by direct fires, and accuses the regime of hiding the bodies, and also labels this attack as “Islamabad Massacre”. He further added that something new will be invented by army to declare PTI as a terrorist organization. Below is the link of a X post, reads as:

Hamid Mir, a senior and prominent Journalist in Pakistan, refers the situation hard, stated as “The firing was so intense that I thought I was either in Palestine or Lebanon.”

Hamid Mir says, when the PTI Workers reached D-Chowk, forces standing there, went behind, making salam. Later, another force came, who directly shot fires and fired in front of me.

On the other side, Home Minister, Mohsin Naqwi denies any type of killings, and stated to provide evidence of any killing.

Pakistan’s politician Moulana Fazalur Rehman, also condemned the violent incidents in Islamabad, and called military to stay away from elections, and labels the happening to 8 February attack.

Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ataullah Tarar, claimed yesterday that no firearms were used against PTI protesters. Surprisingly, video evidences are there, showing the leads, in background, when Tarar was interacting.

Amnesty International, openly condemn the behaviour of government and calls for restraint on both sides. While taking to microbloggig platform X, Amnesty international states that The government must fully protect and ensure the rights of protesters and immediately rescind the ‘shoot-on-sight’ orders that provide undue and excessive powers to the military.

In response to protests by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad, the authorities must exercise maximum restraint, aiming to prevent and de-escalate violence and to avoid the use of force.

Any use of force must be lawful and no more than is necessary and proportionate and the authorities must take all necessary measures to prevent arbitrary deprivation of life, including by ensuring that law enforcement actions are adequately planned to minimize the risk to life. There must also be effective accountability for any unlawful use of force.

The severe restrictions on assembly, movement and mobile and internet services as well as arbitrary detentions of thousands of protesters across Pakistan, particularly in Islamabad, are a grave violation of the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly, movement and expression.

As protesters enter the capital, law enforcement officials have used unlawful and excessive force including tear gas, live ammunition and rubber bullets against PTI protesters. Even if protests become non-peaceful, the authorities must respect and ensure the protesters’ rights to life and freedom from torture and other ill-treatment.

The Pakistani authorities have obligations under international human rights law to provide an enabling environment for the protesters. @amnesty urges the government to ensure that the right to freedom of peaceful assembly is respected and protected. Those detained solely for exercising their right to peaceful assembly must be released immediately.

Human Rights Council of Pakistan also condemned this act, and requested Supreme Court of Pakistan to take notice of this matter.

“They’re using live ammunition, assault rifles, AK-47’s, as you can hear in the background, they’re using automatic fire.”

Al-Jazeera’s Kamal Hyder confirms Pakistani security forces fired assault rifles & automatic weapons on own citizens.

However, the protest has called off, but KPK chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has said “Dharna khatam nhi huva, Dharna Jari Rehga” and only Imran Khan has the power to end the call.

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Omar Ayub, condemn this attitude and stated that he personally rescued more than policeman to safer places, and in return, we were heavily damaged.

Meanwhile, a big Development came into being, Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Rauf Atta has demanded the resignation of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi as well as CM KP Ali Amin Gandapur.

Whereas, Pakistan police stated that they have arrested nearly 1,000 protesters who marched on the capital demanding the release of jailed ex-prime minister Imran Khan after crowds were evicted from the city center after a sweeping crackdown.
