Pakistan Risks Global Isolation Over Alarming Political Regression, Warns Mediator
A Nation Turning Back the Clock
Speaking to India’s VOM news agency, international mediator Faisal Muhammed likened Pakistan’s current trajectory to a return to the 19th century, raising alarms over the political and human rights crises engulfing the country. Faisal highlighted the West’s role in orchestrating the removal of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, describing the resulting chaos as a critical regional and global concern. He warned that Pakistan’s regression threatens not only its citizens but also the stability of South Asia.

Ruthless Political Repression
Mediator criticized the government’s harsh measures against Pakistan’s largest political party and its leader, Imran Khan, calling it a calculated effort to remove them from the political arena. Responding to Western leaders’ objections over human rights abuses, he clarified that these concerns stem from the West’s earlier interference, which destabilized the country. “The intervention began with Khan’s ousting at the behest of Western powers,” he explained, adding that the resulting political and constitutional crises in a nuclear-armed nation warrant the renewed attention of global powers.
A Call for Urgent Action
Faisal warned that if Pakistan’s institutions fail to address these violations, the country risks complete isolation on the world stage. He suggested that a future Trump administration could take decisive steps to address the crisis, given its strategic implications. Stressing the urgency for reforms, Muhammed called on state institutions to act swiftly to avoid further damage to Pakistan’s global standing and internal stability.
