According to officials, the accident occurred when the three trekkers slipped on the treacherous terrain. The trio had been capturing photographs when the slip happened, leading to severe consequences.
The deceased trekker has been identified as Murtaza Ahmad, a resident of Shopian. He succumbed to his injuries despite immediate efforts to assist him.
The two injured trekkers were promptly transported to the district hospital in Shopian for medical treatment. Their current condition remains under evaluation as they receive care.
The Mughal Road, known for its picturesque yet rugged landscape, has been a popular destination for trekkers and tourists. However, its challenging terrain poses significant risks, particularly for those who are not well-prepared.
