Doda—The District Doda Pencak Silat Championship 2024-25 wrapped up today, marking a successful end to a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship and local talent.
Hosted by the District Doda Pencak Silat Association in collaboration with the Pencak Silat Association of Jammu and Kashmir and the J&K Sports Council, the event highlighted the region’s best Pencak Silat athletes.
The closing ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Musarat Jahan, an English Lecturer who served as the Chief Guest, alongside Kamran Wasiq Nehru, Manager at HDFC Bank, Dr. Shayan Javed Kichlo, Assistant Professor at Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, and Ayaz ul Haq Zargar. Their presence provided significant motivation and support to the participants.
Notable contributions were made by Faheem Raja Banday, Jee Block, and Sarfaraz Misger, a Government Teacher, who played crucial roles in ensuring the event’s success.
Nadeem Niaz Zargar, the Organising Secretary, managed the championship smoothly, emphasizing fair play and effective conduct.
The championship featured a variety of categories and age groups, with participants demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication. Musarat Jahan praised the athletes for their commitment and stressed the role of sports in promoting discipline and unity.
Kamran Wasiq Nehru spoke about the holistic benefits of sports and urged athletes to follow their dreams. Dr. Shayan Javed Kichlo and Ayaz ul Haq Zargar commended the organization and talent, promising continued support for future events.
