Leopard kills more than 25 animals at Marmat’s Dehra Top
In the intervening night of May 3 & May 4, more than 25 animals were killed by the leopard at Dehra Top area of Marmat Hills.
As per details obtained by VoM, a Shephard from Bakarwal section of society, from J-K’s katuha who alongwith other workers, visit ranges after ranges for their movements.
Now-a-days, the Shephard were in mid of Udhampur and Marmat range of Jammu Kashmir , where more than 25 animals were killed by leopard.
During an interaction with VoM, around 11 horses/mulls were killed, whereas more than 17 sheeps, were also killed by leopard, resulting in loss of more than 10 Lakhs. Other Shephard have also suffered losses.
A video, not fit for social media, shows a horse got trapped in mid of hill which was not rescued also till date. Due to no road connectivity, horse got trapped and no one is able to reach there.
As during the last four to five days, heavy rainfall was going on, leads to road closure and landslides incidents also.
He appealed the Udhampur & Doda administration to grant the relief so that the bread earner not get affected.
