Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Accuses BJP of Misusing Investigative Agencies
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging its misuse of investigative agencies such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as elections draw near. Reddy emphasized that the ongoing Delhi excise policy case is unrelated to Telangana and instead targets the Kejriwal government in Delhi.
Partisan Actions and Political Maneuvering
Reddy maintained his support for his party’s stance, accusing investigative agencies of aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s agenda. He claimed that the recent arrest of K Kavitha, just prior to the announcement of election dates, was orchestrated for the political advantage of certain parties, including the BJP and the BRS (Bharatiya Rashtriya Suraksha).
Questioning the Timing of Arrests
The Telangana CM questioned the timing of K Kavitha’s arrest, suggesting it was a strategic move aimed at influencing the electoral landscape. Reddy characterized the arrest as a calculated political maneuver rather than a legitimate law enforcement action.
Allegations of Political Interference
Reddy’s statements reflect broader concerns about the impartiality and independence of investigative agencies, particularly in the context of electoral politics. He criticized what he perceives as the agencies’ collusion with the ruling BJP and their purported role in advancing the political interests of specific parties.
Call for Fair and Transparent Governance
Reddy’s remarks underscore the need for fair and transparent governance, free from political interference and manipulation. As the political landscape evolves, his comments highlight the importance of upholding democratic principles and ensuring the integrity of law enforcement agencies.
