
25th India-China Border Talks; National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi Discuss LAC Peace
BEIJING, AUG 25, 2026 [VoM News]: India and China on Tuesday held their 25th rounds of talks between their respective Special Representatives on the boundary question. National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held discussions, which covered various aspects of border dispute and the importance of peace along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
The meetings held in Beijing focused on the delinitation of border and the steps which need to be taken for the promotion of the two-way relations between the two nations. India emphasized that maintaining the peace and tranquility in the border areas was very important for the development of relations.
The External affairs minister, in its official statement, said both Doval and Wang “held a candid and in-depth” discussion and expressed their commitment to keep on working towards a political settlement, which should benefit both the countries in the longer term.
Doval, said that the rise in ties between the two nations have been directly attributable to peaceful conditions along the border. He spoke also in terms of people to people interactions including ‘Kailash Manasarovar Yatra’ through Nathu La pass, and the resumption of border trade through the three passes.
Wang declared, both China and India must enhance interaction, establish trust and amicably settle boundary disputes. He declared both countries must continue with their friendship and mutual partnerships.
The meet took place in backdrop of a recent build up of both countries troop levels at LAC and also other areas including Arunachal Pradesh.
The SR mechanism was created in the year 2003. The issue of boundary dispute involves some 3,488 kilometers. Though there is no final boundary solution as yet between the two nations, it has been proved to be very effective means of dialog and discussions between New Delhi and Beijing.
