European Leaders Discuss Increased Munition Supplies to Ukraine, No Consensus on Sending Troops
French President Emmanuel Macron hosted a meeting with 20 European leaders in Paris to discuss efforts to bolster ammunition supplies to Ukraine and counter Russian aggression.
While Macron suggested that sending troops to Ukraine was not ruled out, he acknowledged a lack of consensus on this matter at present.
The meeting aimed to send a message of European resolve and explore ways to support Ukraine militarily. Macron emphasized the need to prevent Russia from winning and stated, “Nothing should be excluded. We will do everything that we must so that Russia does not win.”
The leaders also discussed a Czech-led initiative to purchase ammunition rounds from third countries and agreed to expedite the delivery of long-range missiles.
Macron highlighted the importance of European self-reliance and urged humility in acknowledging past delays.
The focus was on finding effective solutions to support Ukraine’s defense amid an escalation in Russian aggression.
