India, Maldives, Sri Lanka Conduct Trilateral Maritime Exercise DOSTI-16

Coast guard personnel from India, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka are engaged in a four-day trilateral exercise, ‘DOSTI-16’, aimed at enhancing maritime security and interoperability in the Indian Ocean Region.

The exercise involves Indian Coast Guard ships Samarth and Abhinav, along with Sri Lanka Naval Ship Samudura. The objective is to identify emerging maritime challenges, strengthen friendship, and develop interoperability among the coast guard personnel. Bangladesh is participating as an observer, showcasing the collaborative effort in addressing regional maritime concerns.

Regional Synergy for Maritime Security: ‘DOSTI-16’ Highlights

The 16th edition of the India-Maldives-Sri Lanka trilateral exercise, ‘DOSTI,’ emphasizes regional synergy to enhance maritime security and interoperability. The exercise, held from February 22 to 25, includes activities and joint sea exercises to foster cooperation and mutual operational capabilities among the participating nations.

Strategic Objectives: Strengthening Cooperation and Addressing Challenges
