PM Modi Doorstep Revolution: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh Commends Visionary Approach to Government Welfare Delivery
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced today that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has revolutionized the delivery of government welfare benefits by ensuring their doorstep distribution to citizens.
Speaking at the “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” event in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Jitendra Singh reminisced about a time when citizens, especially the less privileged, had to navigate various government offices to access even the smallest benefits. Often, they would face frustration, abandon their rightful claims, and resign to their fate due to a lack of influence. The Minister highlighted the significant shift brought about by Prime Minister Modi, where government officials are now held accountable and personally visit the homes of citizens to ensure all eligible beneficiaries receive their entitlements.
Dr. Jitendra Singh credited this transformative change to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, emphasizing the citizen as the focal point of government planning. The Minister praised the objective parameters employed to ensure justice is served, a departure from the previous trend of vote bank politics determining the selective rollout of state benefits by opposition governments.
He further lauded Prime Minister Modi for fostering a new work culture in India, where pro-poor and public welfare schemes prioritize reaching the neediest individuals, irrespective of caste, creed, religion, or political considerations. Dr. Jitendra Singh specifically mentioned the “Modi Guarantee Vans,” which aim for 100% saturation of major flagship schemes designed for the socio-economic upliftment of marginalized sections of society.
Highlighting the success of these initiatives, the Minister shared that several schemes have approached 100% saturation within the past nine and a half years. He stressed the principles of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” emphasizing inclusive development.
Discussing the “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra,” Dr. Jitendra Singh explained its focus on citizens who may not be aware of or have not availed themselves of various eligible schemes. He praised Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to elevating public service standards above mere vote considerations, a principle endorsed by the public in the form of a higher mandate in successive elections.
Turning attention to his parliamentary constituency, Dr. Jitendra Singh highlighted the near-saturation of Central Government welfare schemes, such as PM Kisan Yojana, Soil Health Card, PM Maan Dhan Yojana, and Kisan Credit Card.
He also mentioned infrastructure development in Udhampur, including top-ranking PMGSY road projects, the inauguration of Asia’s longest road tunnel, and the expansion of Udhampur railway station. Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed optimism about Udhampur becoming a crucial railway junction in North India with the upcoming rail link to the Kashmir Valley.
The “Viksit Bharat Yatra” initiative, part of one of the largest outreach campaigns, focuses on Jan Bhagidari events, including interactions with scheme beneficiaries, celebrations of Gram Panchayats achieving 100% scheme saturation, and various awareness activities. The campaign aims to cover over 2.55 lakh Gram Panchayats and over 3,600 urban local bodies by January 25, 2024, with a comprehensive, government-driven approach involving state and district authorities, urban local bodies, and Gram Panchayats. The campaign employs specially branded IEC Vans equipped with audio-visual materials and informative resources in Hindi and state languages to showcase scheme details, highlights, and achievements at different levels.
