Two Army Personnel Injured in Landmine Blast Along LoC in Uri
Baramulla, July 29, 2026 [VoM News]: Two Army personnel have received injuries after a landmine explosed near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday, officials said.
As per details available with VoM News, the blast occurred near the Upper Garh Forward Post, manned by 8 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) under the 12 Infantry Brigade in the Kamalkote sub-sector of Uri.
The injured soldiers were identified as Havildar Vijay Kumar and Naik Sharanapa Angari.
As per details, both were on duty near the LoC when the explosion took place.
Following the incident, the injured personnel were immediately evacuated from the site and airlifted to the Army’s Base Hospital in Badamibagh, Srinagar, where they are undergoing treatment. Officials said their condition is stable.

Officials say that preliminary reports suggest the blast may have been triggered by an old anti-personnel landmine during routine patrolling.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
Officials said heavy rainfall and soil erosion during the monsoon often cause landmines along the LoC to shift from their original locations, increasing the risk of accidental explosions.
Meanwhile, a search and sanitisation operation has been launched in the area to detect and clear any additional explosives.
