
SEB Busts Illicit Liquor Operation, Arrests Four in Andhra Pradesh
55 Cases of Illegally Stored Liquor Seized
Officials from the Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) in Andhra Pradesh conducted a successful operation resulting in the arrest of four individuals and the confiscation of 55 cases of illegally stored liquor. The operation was initiated following a tip-off regarding suspected liquor smuggling from Goa and its illegal sale in the Rompicherla area of Palnadu district.
SEB’s Swift Action
Inspector Simon of SEB stated that upon receiving information from a reliable source, a team from SEB took swift action against individuals believed to be involved in the unlawful liquor trade. The operation culminated in the apprehension of four suspects and the seizure of 55 cases of illicitly stored liquor.
Legal Action Initiated
The arrested individuals now face legal consequences as a case has been registered against them. Authorities have assured that appropriate action will be taken in accordance with the law. Further investigations into the matter are currently underway, with law enforcement agencies determined to uncover the full extent of the illicit liquor operation.
Assam’s Excise Department Seizes Illegal IMFL
Major IMFL Haul in Sonitpur District
In a separate incident, the Excise Department of Assam conducted a successful operation leading to the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) in Sonitpur district. Acting on actionable intelligence, the Excise Department team launched an operation in the Batasipur area of Sonitpur district, ultimately confiscating 45 cartons of IMFL from a residence.
Operation Under Supervision
Deepjyoti Adhikary, assistant inspector of Excise, reported, “The operation was launched under the supervision of the Superintendent of Excise, Tezpur. We seized 45 cartons of IMFL from the Batasipur area.” As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with this seizure, but investigations are ongoing.

These operations highlight the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies in cracking down on the illegal liquor trade, which poses risks to public safety and health. Both SEB and the Excise Department are committed to curbing the illicit production, storage, and distribution of alcohol, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
