DC-Doda Leads Critical Assessment at Pul-Doda Landslide Site, Prioritizing Safety and Infrastructure Progress
Deputy Commissioner of Doda, Harvinder Singh IAS, in collaboration with SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, conducted a crucial assessment at the Pul Doda landslide site on January 4. The inspection gained significance as a substantial landslide had severely disrupted road connectivity, causing significant traffic congestion, particularly near an ongoing road construction site. The impact of the landslide has raised apprehensions regarding the safety and accessibility of the affected area.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner held discussions with the General Manager of NHIDCL to address the current challenges posed by the landslide. Directives were issued to the relevant authorities and officials responsible for road maintenance, emphasizing the urgent need to clear the landslide debris. The primary objective is to restore smooth traffic flow promptly and ensure public safety. A swift response from the concerned parties is crucial to minimize disruptions and potential risks to commuters.
Additionally, DC Doda conducted a thorough review of the ongoing construction projects, which include the development of bathrooms and passenger sheds along the national highways. The General Manager of NHIDCL provided assurance that the work is being prioritized for timely completion. This visit, attended by key officials such as SSP Doda, ACR Doda, the GM of NHIDCL, and Teshildar Doda, underscores the administration’s proactive approach in addressing infrastructure requirements and responding to natural disasters.
By assessing both the impact of the landslide and the progress of essential infrastructure projects, these officials demonstrated their unwavering commitment to ensuring public safety and enhancing travel convenience on national highways.
