A total of 2,274 cadets from all 28 States and eight Union Territories are set to partake in the month-long National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp 2024.
This year, with 907 girls in attendance, marks a historic milestone as the camp witnesses its highest participation of female cadets.
Kicking off at the Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt, the Camp 2024 initiated with the Sarva Dharma Puja on December 30, 2023.
Notably, this diverse assembly encompasses 122 cadets from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, alongside 171 from the North-Eastern Region, exemplifying a vivid reflection of ‘Mini India’.
The Youth Exchange Programme integrated into the camp involves the active participation of cadets and officers from 25 friendly nations. Countries such as Argentina, Botswana, Bhutan, Brazil, Czech Republic, Fiji, Kazakhstan, and several others converge, fostering a global camaraderie.
During his address, DG NCC Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh urged the cadets to wholeheartedly engage in every activity and derive maximum benefits from their experience.
He emphasized the importance of displaying exceptional character, integrity, selfless service, camaraderie, and teamwork, transcending the boundaries of religion, language, and caste, with the national interest at the forefront.
The Republic Day Camp stands as a cornerstone for instilling patriotism, discipline, and leadership qualities among the participating cadets.
This annual congregation not only offers valuable training but also engages cadets in cultural pursuits and social service initiatives, nurturing a sense of unity and national pride.
