Utkal Ranjan Sahu Assumes Role as Acting Director General of Police in Rajasthan
Senior IPS officer Utkal Ranjan Sahu, presently serving as the director general of Rajasthan Home Guards, has taken on the additional responsibility as the acting Director General of Police (DGP) of Rajasthan.
This appointment comes following the voluntary retirement of Director General of Police Umesh Mishra.
Upon assuming the charge, Sahu emphasized the priorities set forth by the state government for the police force, focusing on the prevention of crimes against women, gang-related activities, and cybercrimes. He pledged effective action against gangsters, cybercriminals, and offenders involved in crimes against women.
Sahu highlighted ongoing actions against gangsters in the state and announced concrete measures to combat crimes against women, intending to engage in discussions with relevant authorities.
Regarding cybercrime, he stressed the importance of public vigilance, expressing that increased awareness among citizens can significantly reduce cyber-related offenses.
During his induction ceremony at the police headquarters, several senior police officers, including Director General (Law and Order) Rajeev Sharma, Director General (Cyber Security) Ravi Mehrada, and Additional Directors General such as Sanjay Agarwal, Govind Gupta, Anil Paliwal, Sanjib Narzary, Vishal Bansal, and V K Singh, were present to welcome Sahu into his new role.
