Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has announced a significant allocation of Rs 1,170.16 crore for 29 road projects in Ladakh. Gadkari shared this development on the social media platform X, highlighting that the funds are earmarked for a comprehensive set of projects, covering state highways and other major roads within the Union Territory.

In addition to this substantial investment, Gadkari revealed that Rs 181.71 crore has been approved for the construction of 8 bridges under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) scheme for the fiscal year 2023-24.

Emphasizing the significance of these infrastructure initiatives, the minister pointed out that Ladakh, being the largest Union Territory in terms of area and the second least populous in the country, is set to experience improved connectivity to its remote villages.
