Senior IPS Officer Anand Mishra Resigns to Pursue Freedom and Independence
Anand Mishra, a prominent IPS officer from the Assam-Meghalaya cadres, known for his dynamic persona and immense popularity on social media, has decided to step down from his position as part of the Special Investigation Team in Manipur.
Often referred to as “Assam’s Singham” by social media users, Mishra was an integral part of the SIT investigating the recent violence in Manipur.
In his resignation letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, Government of Assam, Mishra expressed his intention to resign from the IPS to pursue a life characterized by “freedom” and “independence.”
Citing personal and social goals beyond the purview of the IPS, he conveyed his decision to step away from the service.
Although his resignation hints at a desire for social service beyond the scope of his current role, there are suggestions that Mishra might be inclined to join the BJP in his home state of Bihar.
Furthermore, speculation is rife that he may consider contesting the upcoming general elections slated for the following year.
