Director of Animal Husbandry Department in Jammu, Dr. Shubhra Sharma, visited Doda yesterday to distribute Artificial Insemination (AI) kits, Cryo-containers, and other associated equipment among newly trained Multipurpose Artificial Insemination Technicians in Rural India (MAITRIs). The distribution took place at a function held at the Chief Animal Husbandry Complex in Doda.
During the event, Dr. Sharma emphasized the importance of meeting the demand for trained Artificial Insemination technicians in rural areas. She highlighted the efforts made under the central scheme Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM) to train and induct MAITRIs. These technicians play a crucial role in delivering timely AI services to farmers, providing significant benefits to the farming community.
Dr. Sharma explained that MAITRIs are selected from unemployed educated youth across the districts of Jammu division.
