DC-Doda Discusses 2024 Environmental Plan, Focused on 7 Key Areas

Today, Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh of Doda chaired a meeting with members of the District Environment Committee (DEC) to deliberate on the development of the District Environment Plan (DEP) for the year 2024.

The committee, led by the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Doda and supported by the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council Doda and the Divisional Officer of PCC Doda, has been tasked with formulating the plan.

The committee aims to finalize and upload the DEP-2024 onto the designated portal by the end of December 2023, incorporating inputs from relevant departments and stakeholders.

The DEP-2024 is set to address seven key thematic areas, encompassing Waste Management, Plastic Waste Management, Bio-Medical Waste Management, Construction and Demolition Waste Management, Hazardous Waste Management, E-waste Management, Water Quality Management, Domestic Sewerage Management, Wetland Conservation and Management, Industrial Waste Management, Air Quality Management, Mining Activities Management, and Noise Pollution Management.

Additionally, micro plans will be developed to address other factors impacting the natural environment.
