LG-Sinha Drives Development-Initiatives in J-K, Lauds Growth and Inspiring Achievements
During this month’s Awaam ki Awaaz program, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha urged the active involvement of various segments of society in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. This initiative, the largest-ever outreach program by the Government of India, aims to cover every Panchayat and Urban Local Body in Jammu and Kashmir.
Emphasizing the importance of people’s participation, Lt. Governor Sinha stressed the need for achieving 100% saturation of schemes to ensure that their benefits reach all intended recipients.
As we approach the end of 2023 and reflect on the past months, Lieutenant Governor Sinha observed impressive growth, enhanced quality of life in both rural and urban areas, and visible progress in various sectors. Expressing confidence in the trajectory of Jammu and Kashmir, he stated, “I see J&K on the move with confidence towards the goal.

“Highlighting inspiring success stories, Lt. Governor Sinha recognized Munshi Ramji, a senior citizen from Udhampur, who ingeniously repurposed old laptop batteries and e-waste to create an e-cycle. He also praised Sadaf from Srinagar, commending her determination and entrepreneurship despite facing disabilities.
The Lt. Governor described Sadaf’s journey as “a story of grit, self-belief, hard work, and determination” and cited her as a source of inspiration for others.Additionally, Tariq Ahmed Ganie from Kulgam received accolades for establishing a successful waste recycling unit, contributing to a waste-to-wealth economic model.
Lt. Governor Sinha noted that Tariq not only generated employment for local youth but also played a crucial role in building a cleaner and more sustainable future.Acknowledging valuable suggestions from citizens, the Lt. Governor directed concerned departments and officials to take appropriate action based on the inputs received.
He specifically mentioned the contributions from individuals such as Poonam Sharma from Jammu, Abdul Rashid Bhat from Ganderbal, Sanchetna from Jammu, Ehsaan Khaleeq from Pulwama, Anil Thapa from Udhampur, Kanwal Singh from Kathua, Noor Ud Din Khan from Baramulla, Madeena Mir from Srinagar, Saurav Sharma from Kathua, and Zakir Hussain from Poonch.
These suggestions are expected to contribute to the ongoing efforts to enhance the overall development and well-being of the region.
