Blaze at Zewan Headquarters Causes Damage to ITBP Barrack
A significant fire erupted in a barrack situated at the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) headquarters in Zewan, on the outskirts of Srinagar, resulting in substantial property damage, according to officials on Sunday.
The Fire and Emergency services reported that the fire originated in a 50 x 200 Barrack of the ITBP, which housed a considerable inventory of tents, bulletproof jackets, helmets, and other items. These supplies suffered severe damage in the course of a major fire incident.

The blaze commenced on Saturday evening, prompting the dispatch of fire tenders from nearby stations at approximately 7:19 pm. It took several hours to bring the escalating flames under control, ultimately preventing extensive damage to the barrack.
The stored articles within the barrack were crucial resources utilized by the ITBP during the annual Amarnath Yatra period, as indicated by a Fire and Emergency Services official.In a separate incident, four cowsheds in Dara Harwan, located on the outskirts of Srinagar, were also damaged in a fire early this morning.
