Mohan Yadav is New CM Of Madhya Pradesh

Mohan Yadav emerges as the new Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh following the BJP’s decisive victory over the Congress, maintaining its stronghold in the heartland state.

Mr. Yadav, previously the Higher Education Minister in the outgoing government and a three-time MLA representing the Ujjain Dakshin seat, assumes the leadership mantle at 58 years old. His appointment signifies a significant shift in state politics and marks a perceived conclusion to the political journey, at least within the state, for his predecessor, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

In a strategic move aimed at quelling internal aspirations and ensuring unity before the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, the BJP also announced the appointment of two deputy chief ministers, Jagdish Deora and Rajesh Shukla.

Additionally, the former Union Agriculture Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar, who contested last month’s elections along with two other former cabinet members, assumes the role of the Assembly Speaker.

There were speculations about Mr. Tomar potentially succeeding Mr. Chouhan at the top position, given his involvement in handling the farm laws protests, yet the party chose to position him as the Assembly Speaker instead.
